Brisbane November 25. The Sugar question is being debated in the Assembly. On the motion for the establishment of a state refinery and an amendment that the industry be placed on a sound basis by the continuance of the present Kanaka Laborers Act for a urther ten years, Mr Philp who, had raised the ire of the Queensland representatives in the Federal Parliament by writing to the President of the Senate giving his views on the Federal Bill said it would be a bad day if the States could not approach both Federal houses by letter. One member stated the Premier merely gave the views to the Government which did not represent the views of members of the State Parliament.
