A Systematic Swindler.

£250 is offered for the apprehension of Thomas Goudie ( a Bank of Liverpool book-keeper, for forging and uttering cheques. The crime is attributed to gambling on the turf. London, November 24. The book-keeper in the Bank of Liverpool defrauded the institution of £170,000. Goudie was in the habit of forging cheques for the payment of turf debts. The cheques were drawn on an account kept with the Bank at Liverpool. The cheques after-wards were presented through the clearing house and various backs. Goudie failed to debit lire cheques to the account, and thus circumvented the daily check with fresh transactions.
