THE BAPTIST CONFERENCE.
[PEE PEE 33 ASSOCIATION.] Nei.son, Nov 14. The Baptist Jubilee Conference to-day debated numerous important propositions. At the morning session the President introduced his scheme for a Board of Introduction to introduce Ministers and Churches to one another. A very lengthy discussion ensued ia which the Rev J. G. Grcenhaugh took part. Ultimately it was unanimously adopted. The Rev A. Dewdney submitted a bold proposal for the prosecution of Home missions by placing ministers of experience in towns in which no Baptist church exists and by unifying of mission schemes of provincial auxiliaries. The report was adopted in both cases, influential committees to be set up to energetically prosecute the schemes. The Rev P. Borcham submitted a report of the Baptist almanack, which showed a circulation of 7,250 and a balance in hand. In the evening a great Jubilee demonstration was held in the School of Music. The Rev Dolamore, the pioneer minister, presided, and addresses were delivered by Rev Dalliston, Wellington, and Clarke Auckland. Rev J. G. Greenhaugh the representative from Great Britain, made a splendid speech, and his utterances were most warmly received and greeted with great enthusiasm. His satire provoked much laughter. This evening he kept the audience in a continual storm of applause by his magnificent oration.
