South Australia won by 233 runs. In consequence of the rain during the night and again during the morning, play was not resumed till about 2 30. The wicket was greasy. The not outs— Eeedman and Giffen-by careful play raised the score to 180. Then a collapse came, Blythe keeping the ball well up and very difficult to play, quickly disposed of the others.

The visitors began their second innings at 4 o’clock, and was little more than a procession. On the soft and much cutup wicket and not the best light Giffen proved irresistible. Travers also bowled with excellent judgment. Lilley's was a most meritorious performance under adverse conditions.
