Auckland Athletic Meeting

The following have been i elected to represent New South Wales at the Athletic meeting in Auckland : —Hammer and weight—O’Reilly 120 and 410 yards. Hurdles and broad jump—Lindsay, one mile and throe miles ; York 440 and 880 yards ; Oxlade 100yds and 220yds. Sprints have not yet been chosen. Bowling. Melbourne, Nov. 7. The Australian Bowling tournament opened yesterday. In the matches played Sneddon, a Now Zealander, was beaten. Intercolonial Football. Wellington This Day. The management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union considered last night a letter from the Queensland Union stating it cannot send a team to Now Zealand nex-. year on terms offered by the Now Zealand Union, and suggestion a Conference of New Zealand, New South Wales and Queensland Uuions in Sydney next year, to arrange for the interchange of visits. After discussion it was decided to leave ihe Conference question open for decision at a future meeting, and to inform the Queensland Union that if it wishes a visit from New Zealaudeas in 1903 it will be advisable to submit at once the terms it would agree to. It was resolved to inform New South Wales that there is no prospect of New Zealanders visiting that colony before 1903.
