THE ENGLISH CRICKETERS.

[piK PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] Adelaide, Nov 8. The Cricket Association rescinded the rule controlling the umpire's appointment thus allowing MaoLaren to nominate as one. It is hoped that the concession will assist to gain a similar favour for Australians when visiting England. A striking feature of the English cricketers is the youthfulness of the team. One authority predicts, that Quaife will be a thorn in the side of the Australian bowlers, and will be as difficult to shift as were Barlow and Scotton in former years. Sydney, Nov. 8. MacLaren wired to the New South Wales Cricket Association claiming the right to appoint one umpire. The Association replied deprecating the terms of MacLaren’s message, and added that it followed tlie M.0.G., and could not admit the propriety of the claim.
