THE COLONIAL BANK.
(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, Nov 2.
The Colonial Bank liquidators (Messrs W. B. Yigers and W. A. Simpson) have replied under date “Dunedin, October 15th” to a letter from the Secretary of ihe Treisury dated October 10th, inquiring as to the position of the liquidation of the Colonial Bank. The liquidators state there remains “only one small matter to adjust with tho Bank of New Zealand, which should be settled in a few days. We shall then take the first opportunity of appearing before the judge of the Supreme Court and apply to him for leave to pay a final dividend, which we expect to be about Is 21 per share, making with the 10s already paid, a total of 11s 61 per share, on which the sum of £2 had been paid. There has been vexatious delay in bringing this liquidation to a close, but it has not been possible for the, liquidators to expedite matters, law suits and legal delays being responsible.” The letter was laid on the table of tho Legislative Council to day.
