SERIOUS TROUBLE IN THE PERSIAN GULF.

London, September 28. The Times correspondent at Bombay wires that Commandant Pears, of the Perseus, inquired the object of the Turkish vessel’s visit to Kowezt, at the head of the Persian Gulf, and was informed he had been instructed to land 500 troops. Commander Pears advised the Turkish Commander to return to Busra, but the vessel weighed anchor and entered the harbor and prepared to land troops. The Perseus immediately cleared her decks for action and kept her searchlight on the Turk's decks.
The Turkish Commander in the morning announced that ho was returning to Fao in order to communicate with Conslantinople. The vessels remain at Fao.
Edhem Pasha meanwhile is massing troops at Busra. The Sheiks and Marabouts declined ihc request of the Vali of Busra to discourage calls of British warships and steamers.
The Times says that the Sheiks may count on British support.
