Eeceived this day at 915 a. m. Ottawa, Sept 17. The Duke of Cornwall in his speech on landing at Quebec made a touching reference to M'Kinloy, The Boyal visitor is associating himself with the Canadians sympathy extended to a great friendly nation. He added a splendid tribute to the valour of Canadians at the battle of Paardebnrg where they took such a prominent part in the operations against Cronje. It is understood that the chief reason against the Cornwalls attending M’Kinley’s funeral is the undesirableness of tempting anarchists attack.
