Another Fraud. Received this day at 10 5 a. m. Mblboubnn, Sept 17. It is now stated that the Melbourne Jnivenity debentures suppoped to have teen stolen never existed. The person esponsibla for the shortage of funds is elieved to have abstracted the money, nd covered the deficiency by entering in he books that an equivalent amount of lebentures bad been purchased. The Federal message of condolence to d’Kinlsy, after expressing horror at the nime which removed from the field of about a man of upright life, adds that his untimely loss in the Zenith of his intellectual power is profoundly mourned by Australia, where he was. regarded as a proved friend of the people and of the British Empire.
