The Telegraph says Seddon’a decision not to proceed farther with labor legislation ia one of the moat significant events in Colonial political history. Probably the applying brake happens none too soon for the community to weigh the teat of reforming and experimental legislation of which New Zealand has had each an abundance and public capacity of assimilation of whieh ia much more limited than aome politicians perceive. New Zealand has gone, full speed ahead ao long in this respect that she may well slow down. There are purely political reasons for the oourae too.
