THE IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT.

[per PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.]

1 London, August 16. The Globe, insinuating that the Nationalists were guilty of corruption in connection, with private Bills legislation, the House of Commons agreed unanimously that a breach of privilege had been committed and summoned the editor and publisher to the bar of the House.

Hon. Mr Balfour suggested that a select committee should be appointed, when the House meets next year, to report on the best methods of preserving in such cases the dignity of the House. The Factory Bill passed the Lords, the Government accepting the Commons’ amendment regarding the half-holiday to the employees in the textile mills.

Mr Chamberlain, in replying to Mr Rollcston, said that it was not intended to make a protective discrimination in the Transvaal and the Orange Colony against the importation of foreign goods. Replying to Mr Rolan, Mr Chamberlain said that it was not intended to appoint a Commission to enquire into the Government of Malta.
