NEW ZEALAND LABOUR LAWS.
Melbourne Argue on our Premier [by electric telegraph.—copyright.] (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Deceived this day at 9 38 a. m. Melbourne, August 10. The Argus says that the American description of a wide awake politcian, that he has an ear to the ground, may be well applied to Mr beddon in hie declaration to the people of New Zealand that ho had enough labour restrictions. What may have moved him, is the possibility of revolt in the country districts, against the system which threatens if pushed too far to impose heavy burdens, while producers have generally approved of the effort to abate sweating they may not be enthusiastic in enforcing a bye-law, regarding wages which they cannot possibly pay to labor themselves.
