The Waihi Gold Mining Company’; operations for the four weeks ending Jul\ 20tb, resulted in a yield of £36,452 from 11,878 tons treated. This return beats aii previous records, the yield being equivalent to £3 1b fid per ton, Phthisis and Cancer. Wellington', This Day. During the month of Juno there were 20 deaths from phthisis in the colony and seven from cancer. Our Sayings Banks. During the three months ended June 20th the deposits in the post office savings bank amounted to £1,186,883 and the withdrawals to £1,086,885. The corresponding figures' for the same quarter last year were £1,075.876 and £966,881.
