Members expressed alarm at tne rapidly increasing expenditure and so many appointments of high salaried officials already expending within £2,000 a year of the estimate. Cattle for South Africa. A representative of a South African firm is purchasing 520 cattle for shipment to Capetown. New Zealand Industries. Adelaide, July 10. Messrs Price and Millers, members lof the Assembly, have returned from a trip to New Zealand in reference to industrial and agricultural matters. They speak highly of the treatment they received.
The Westralian Strike. Perth, July 10. Matters in connection with the strike are quiet. It is rumoured that the Ministry which only holds office on suffrance, is likely to resign and leave the settlement of the strike to their successors.
