'•"'■' Adelaide, July 9. The Royal party landed at Port Adelaide this afternoon and proceeded to the city by special train.
The weather was fine and the decorations lavish and most effective. The streets along the four and a half miles of route traversed were garlanded with greenery, intercepted with a wealth' of bunting, shields/ mural devices and severafbeautiful arches.
150,000 persons watched the procession
There was immense enthusiasm,
At the town hall the Mayor presented the Duke with an address of welcome, and his daughter presented the Duchess with a bouquet. This was the signal for the release of 400 pigeons. To-night there is a dinner party at Government House.
The city is brilliantly illuminated,
Received this day at 9 37 a m. Sydney, July 10. The Premier has received a letter from the Duke of Gornwall and York, thanking him fnr the present of copies of official papers and book 3 dealing with Captain Cook's voyages. He add 3 that "I will always retain the pleasantest recollections of my second visit to New South Wales. Adelaide, July 10. The Duke of Cornwall and York suffered from severe toothache during the driving procession. He subsequently obtainad the services of a dentist.
Received this day at 9 37 a m. There is much disappointment at the Ophir and escorts not coming up the river as arranged. This prevented several of the English pressmen being, present. The St. George proceeded to Albany to coal, most of the English journalists accompanying them.
