MR. HALL-JONES'S REFUSAL TO GIVE UP HIS ROOMS.

A representative of the Evening Post has interviewed the Minister for Public Works in reference to the statements which have appeared recently respecting his refusal to give, up jjklljfeMßg occupied by him at Searl's HoiJßjjj It appears that Bupcupied rooms in the wg Kthc Royal for the ■ ■jalf years, and was mujH n before the j jfcl party Htf| Ht bcifl K:
he had been informed that he would not be disturbed, his suite of rooms had been set apart for one of the members of the Royal suite, and this at a time when, owing to the large number of visitors in Wellington, it was impossible to obtain accommodation elsewhere. The position was explained to the member of the suite referred to, who informed Mr Hall-Jones that under similar circumstances he would have taken the same course as that taken by the Minister. Mr Hall-Jones ridiculed the suggestion that there had been any unpleasantness with his colleagues over the matter, and concluded by saying, " Even had there been, I would not allow my private arrangements to be interfered with without being consulted."
