THE CONWAY CASE.

[Per Press Association—Copyright] Sydney, June 13, The Conway murder trial was resumed to-day. Miss Huddlestone, being recalled, admitted that the stout she drank on tho night of Conwaj’s death had a distinctly bitter taste.

After the ease for the prosecution was closed, accused addressed the jury at some length in a voice broken and low. Counsel for tho defence sought to show that strychnine was a cumulative poison, that Conway, who had been' in ill health, and, as the post mortem showed, suffered from bright’s disease, probably took a tonic, of which strychnine formed a part, and tho poison accumulated suddenly and acted fatally. After a lengthly and lucid summing up by the Judge, the jury in the Conway murder case, after thrice retiring to ask questions, were locked up for the night. The Jury again Disagree. Received, this day, at 12 39 a.m. Sydney, This Day. The jury have disagreed again, and Mrs Smith has been remanded to her former custody.
