The State Premier has issued a manifest outlining the Ministerial noliey of parliament which expires by effluxion of time in August. Owing to the opening of the Federal Parliament and the Yorks visit it will bo impossible to assemble before early in July. It is therefore decided not to meet but to dissolve at the earliest possible moment.

Federation rendered necessary a reduction in the number of members and other important changes in State Constitution. and ho proposes to introduce a bill empowering the people to give effect to these changes and suggests an Election Convention on the basis of adult suffrage to frame a constitution which after being revised by the two Houses will bo referred to the .people and finally accepted or rejected. Other proposed legislation is industrial and arbitration, female sufrage, Workmens’ holdings in vicinity largo centres of population, despatch of experts to open up British and Foreign markets.

The revenue is in a healthy condition the State living within its income. The cost of combatting the plague and sending troops to South Africa was £290,000 for which special provision will have to be made. The net cost of the late Federal celebrations was £oO,COO.
