Proposal Joint-Commission. Received this day, at 9 48 a m. Melbourne, April 26. Barton received a reply to his message from Chamberlain suggesting that a Commission be appointed to deal with the troubles over the land matters in New Hebrides.

Barton says the request was acknowledged in a gratifying spirit, and the result of the correspondence will probably be tho appointment of a Commission.
