(per press association.)
London, April 18. At the instance of the Pacific Cable Board, Mr Chamberlain suggests a conference between the Governments concerned to consider the effect of New South W ales’s agreement with the Eastern Extension Company upon that of the Pacific Cable. Clarke is still urging the desirability of concurrence in Victoria immediately signing a similar agreement, leaving any arrangement sanctioned by the conference to be applicable to New South Wales and Victoria.
