Wellington-, April 17. John W, Aitkcn aud Thomas M. Wilford were to-day nominated for the city mayoralty and twenty-four candidates were nominated for the twelve seats in the City Council. The city Municipal Roll contains 13,600 names as against 19,372 on the Parliamentary Roll. James Reid, George Frost, George Baylis, and Arthur Fulford were nominated for the mayoralty of Melrose and eighteen for the Borough Council. James Henderson and F. M'Donald contest the mayoralty of Karori, There are fourteen candidates for nine seats in the Council. Inykrcargill, April 16. Horace Bassins, Charles Longaet, and F. G. Stone were nominated for the mayoralty. Timabu, April 16. Councillors M'lntosh and M'Nab were nominated for the mayoralty.
