CONCERNING OUR CONTINGENTS.

Wellington, This Day
The Government received advice from Pietersberg that Corporal Taylor and Private N. J. Miller (Wellington) of the Sixth Contingent were severely wounded on the 10th. Both are doing well. Privates aH. Pepham (Orepuki) and Bcatty (Pukekoi) are seriously ill with dysentry at Pretoria. Private Moore, of Amberley, died of dysentry at Pretoria on tho 12th. The Premier of Victoria wired to Seddon on the 10th that Lieut. Kcddell and. Private Smith of your colony arrived this morning by the Ortona, and leave for Wellington by the Waitora. Keddell is wounded in the left arm, but otherwise is in good health. Another message states that FarrierSergt. Wright (Wellington) and Private A. H. Free (Christchurch) of the Sixth Contingent will be recommended for recognition of distinguished conduct and gallant acts in capturing twelve armed Boers.
