The Conway case is likely to be further adjourned till Wednesday next, certain witnesses not arriving till then. Arrested for Forgery. Melbourne, April 10. Captain Edward Marshall, South African Light Horse, was arrested aboard the Australasian on his arrival from the Capo on a charge of forging and uttering a cheque for £2OO, which purported to be signed by Lieut Mabeloy, paymaster of tho Imperial Forces, Capetown, Tattersall’s Sweep’s. ~ Hobart, April 10. J H Vincent (Manawatu) won the fir-t prize of £3OOO in Tattersall’s sweep on the Sydney Cup. State Minister Seriously HI. Brisbane, April 10. Mr Chatway, Minister for Agriculture, has been ill for some time. He has taken a serious turn, and there is little hope of his recovery.
