Received This Day at 9 2 a.m. London, April 8. The official returns of British casualties in South Africa show that to the end of March last 14,728 were killed and died of wounds or desease; 775 missing and 2,089 were invalided and discharged from the army as unfit for service. Received this day at 9 2 a m. London. April 7.
The War Office has ordered the acceleration of a shipment of horses and mules purchased in America for South Africa. No further purchases will be made in America.
The Boers are scattering before Plummer in Northern Transvaal.
