General French to take over the
new Recruits.
Boers urging to destroy Railway in Zoutpansburg.
Received this day, at 9 8 a.m. London, April 5. The Standard reports that Hildyard will shortly take over French's command, and that French will he given the work of organising the newly arrived mounted troops.
Ho also reports that De Wet is at Yrede with fifteen hundred men and fifteen two-pounders.
Up to the end of December there has been subscribed for the relief of soldiers and sailors taking part in the war and their families £2,60,0000. Boer advices received at Brussels state that Botha ordered De Wet, Delarey, Beyers and Hertzog to harass Kitchener and destroy the railway towards Zoutpausberg.
