(per tress association.) Wellington, March 28. Tho Premier received a cable from Johannesburg that five officers and seventeen men of the Fourth Contingent volunteered for further service.

Private Best of tho Fourth Contingent, is dangerously ill of enteric fever at Potchefstroom.

Sergt Challis, who disembarked from oin of tho troopships at Hobart suffering from enteric fever, has recovered and leaves for New Zealand by the Monowai on Saturday.
