SUPPOSED WRECK OF A SCHOONER.
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.]
Received this day at 9 35 a.m. Mnlbourne, March 29.
There is now little doubt that the schooner Louisa Lamont, which left for Launceston on Thursday is wrecked. The police reported finding on Cape Wollomai, Phillip Island, a quantity of timber forming the portion of a schooner's cargo, and a shattered boat. These are evidences that she has gone to pieces, and there is hardly any probability of her crew consisting of E. Frances; (captain) W, Reid (mate), H. M. Gregory (cook). J. Billing and A. Firmston (seamen) — wero saved. The schooner is insured for JE6OO.
