WELLINGTON STREET WIDENING.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

Wellifgton This Day. Under the street widening proposals, the Wellington City Council proposed to take certain land at the northern end of Willis street, owners of which claim £25,000 compensation through the Supreme Court. The city authorities have decided to oppose the claim, but through an oversight the necessary document was not filed in time and judgment went by default. The council is now moving the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgment on the ground that the omission was duo to inadvertence.
