Dunedin, March 21

The city tramways were taken oyer by the Corporation to-day, the deeds having been signed. The Mayors and Councillors of tho suburban boroughs through which the trams run and others were entertained at luncheon by tho city corporation and tramway directors. Tho Mayor, in speaking, said that the City Council had made a good deal. If they had not taken the trams others would haY’e stepped in. This was confirmed by Mr G Fenwick, chairman of directors, who said the company had an offer of £IB,OOO, and could got it to-morrow.
