ST. PATRICK'S NEW SCHOOL.

The school room was crowded to excess last night to hear and see the national concert and entertainment given in connection with tho above school, and principally by pupils of same. The programme opened with an overture "Humors of Donnybrook" well interpreted under the leadership of Mr. Apted, Then following a sparkling little operatta —"The Fairy Governors"—the chief character in which were sustained by Miss Eily Hannan, Miss Lily Cottle, Miss M. E. Noonan and Miss M. Harris, the pupils of the school supplying "fairies," "cupids," etc. The composition—one of those well suited to children —was excellently represented and much applauded, the histrionic abilities of the pupils being much in evidence. In the second part a "National Flag Drill" was executed with precision and taste, and would bear repetition. A number of excellent songs were rendered, tho soloists being the Misses Driscoll, Galbraith, Weber, Burger, Hannan, the-Rev. D. J. Malone, Messrs Doogan, Moss and Guthrie. The management is to be congratulated upon the success that attended their efforts—efforts that had a two-fold object in view—firstly, to display a part of the careful training given to pupils ; and secondly, to assume and entertain 'the audience. In obtaining both objects sought after, the Sisters of the Convent are to be heartily congratulated.
