ADELPHI DRAMATIC COMPANY

The Opera House was crowded to the doors to witness Dion Boucicaults grand Irish drama of "Arrah-na-Pogue". The cast was a strong one, while the staging of the play was decidedly good, Mr A. Ingleson doing much credit to his art. Shawn, the Postman, found an able exponent in Mr Harper, whose capacity for tho "light and shade" of the profession was well tested. His rendering of tho "Wearin'-o-the-Qreon, was loudly applauded. Colonel O'Grady was portrayed true, and the idea of the author G. M. Haden. Mr Ward by his excellent deleaniation of Michael Feeney, a rather undesirable character, succeeded in making himself unpopular with tho audience for the time being, and this was perhaps as big a compliment as could be paid him. "Beamish M'Coul" was represented by Mr Neville in a spirited manner, while Messrs Daly and Ambroso did ample ustico to the peasant and sergeant atarms. "Anah Mulish," in the person of Miss E. Gibson, at once established herself as a firm favourite, while "Fanny Power" and "Katty"wero also well represented. The drama was most creditably produced, and the audience were not backward in expressing their appreciation.

To-night the Company produce their strongest piece, "Tho King's Colours," which is a nautical drama with now and magnificent scenery by Mr Alf Ingleson.
