Proposed Lame Military Loan.
(Per Press Association.) London, January 00. In the House of Commons Mr Broder lck, Undersecretary for War, announced that the Government proposed to float a loan of .£5,450,000 with a currency of 80 years. The money to be utilised in urgenti'inilitary services. It was intended to'ppend £1,120,000 in fortifying Beres haven an Lou^h Swilly, on the coast of Ireland, Falmouth and Scilly Islands ; i; 2,900,000, 900,000 upon barracks and a large camp ; £1, 149,000 in strengthening the defensive position around London ; a portion of the loan also to be expended on store 3 and rifle ranges, and the purchase of sixty square miles in the vicinity of Stonehenge, lor military purposes.
