A Maori Girl's Terrible Fate.

(Per Preas Association.) Auckland, January 18. A Maori girl, named Tirinat Toihau, aged 17, was burned to death in Kawhia. A spark from a camp fire settled on the girl's hikurere about the shoulders. Waking up and feeling fire, she started to run towards the sea. Her clothing soon caught and the dry grass around her and in a few seconds the light clothing she had on was all consumed. The unfortunate girl expired in great agony in trying to get to the sea through v barbed wire fence. She waa greatly mangled.
