The Federal Convention.

(Per Press Association) Melbourne, January 18. At the meeting of Premiers, Sir John Forrest, Premier of Western Australia. said that owing to the general clcctionß in May it would be impossible for Western Australia to fall in with dates .selected, and he suggested that the election of delegates be held in March and the Convention at the end of June. YVheu he returned from the Federal Council he would do his best to try and meet the other colonies, but he was afraid there was no chance of Western Australia participating unless the dates were altered. The other Premiers decided that New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania should hold elections and Convention on dates previously arranged.
