— — o Mr Lethbridge addressed the electors at Colyton last evening, when there was a large attendance. Mr A. Conway presided. At the conclusion of his address Mr Lethbridge, who was well received, was accorded a vote of thanks and con- , fidence on the motion of Mr Pleasants and seconded by Mr Kirk. Three cheers were also given for the candidate. Mr R. Stevens will address candidates of the Mauawatu electorate at Rongotea tonight, commencing at 7 30. Further dates on which Mr Bailey will address tbe electors in tbe various localities are published to.day. He will speak at Feilding on Monday next. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Nov. 16. It was generally understood that the counting of the local option poll, taken on the same day as the general election, would not be elected on the general election day. Mr Taylor, returning officer for Dunedin, intends to count the voting papers for the local option and hopes tc be able to announce ir, and the result of the Parliamentary poll between 10 and 11 a.m. Nelson, November 16. Mr John Graham received a vote of thanks and confidenc3 to night at a crowded meeting, He spoke highly of Mr Seddon. Auckland, November 16. Mr John Prtss is out for the Bay of Island*- electorate, it is understood in the Opposition interest. Christchurch, Nov. 16. Mr Sinifh addressed a large meeting tonight. Hp claimed that he had always consistently supported Liberal principles which he had been elected to support. In matters in which he had opposed the Government had been arjart from those thosw principles. He declared himself an Indvpeudeut Liberal. He would support a Libtra! administration, but would not pledge himself to any person. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried.
