0 Messrs Abraham and Williams report :— Business for the week has been limited to the Palmerston sale only, which was held on Friday in place of the usual Thursday. The entry of stock was small and chiefly fats, both an cattle and sheep, tbe bulk being sold to brisk bidding at better prices than last week. The show exhibits offered for sale were fewer than in former years. Regarding these horses were without buyers, bulls and fat sheep and pigs were all disposed of. The shortborn bull, Duke of Atholl, lyr and Bmos. old, 30gs. ; 3 yearling shorthorn bulls, LlO 10s each ; Ayrshire bull, L5 ; 1 fat bullock, L7 2s 6d ; fat bullocks, light to medium weights, L 5 14s 6d to L517 s 6d ; prime fat cows, L 6 12a 6d to L 6 15s ; crime fat ewes, 8s 7d ; others, 6s 4d ; fat wether 8, 9a 6d ; ewes and wethers, fat in the wool, 12s lOd; store wethers, 11s 4d. Mr Cbas. Carr reports : — I held stock sales at Birmingham and Feilding on Tuesday and Saturday, the 27th and 31st ulto., respectively. At both sales a fair amount of stock came forward. All classes of stock were very dull of sale, and prices still seem to have a downward tendency. However, a good many pens of both sheep and cattle changed bands at prices in favour of purchasers. Quotations are as follows : — Birmingham — 2- years steers, £2 Is 6d to £2 6s ; springing heifers, £3 ; empty do., £2 9a; 4-tooth ewes with lambs, lls ; ewes in wool, empty, 5s 3d to 7s 6d ; shorn ewes, 6s ; hoggets, 6s 2d to Bs. Feilding.— 3 years bullocks, £3 15s ; springing cow, £i 10s; hoggets, ss, 5s 9d, 7s, Bs, 8s 9d ; forward ewes, shorn, ss ; cross bred ewes, 2 tooth, 8s ; wethers, 10s 6d.
