The Guessing Competition
The animals used in the guessing competition at tbe A. and P. Show were slaughtered on Thursday, and the fol* lowing is the result ; — BaUock, 21691b5. P. Mucgarvin, Ponraa, 1173, J. Harris, Rangifcikei Line, 1165, and Paraparaumu, 1165, divide the prizes. The others nearest were: —P. | Mnngarvin' Porirua, 1178 ; C. K. Wilson Ohau, 1179 ; W. A. Browing, Palmerston North, 1155. Sheep, 5, 5511bs -J. B. Pascal, Palmerston North, 5511b5, 1 : R. Hammond, Sandon, 5531b5, 2. The next in order were : — W. H. Collingwood, Palmerston North, 548&1ba ; E. K. Hastie, Manaia. R. Newman, Marton ; J. Fitt, Palmers, ton North, J. McLeod' Patea, and J. MeLeod, Rata, all 5551b5; Hugh Akers, Linton, 5561b5; W. Davidson, 5421b5. A number of members of the Association's committee guessed together, tbe nearest to tbe weight being the President. — Standard
