Charge and Llena galloped over eleven furlougs, the pace being souud throughout. Cook's pair, The Officer and Merry Boy, were associated in a flutter over a mile, which the former compassed in lmin 46jsec. Newhaven did a similar task iv company with Cohort and Resolute. The Merman skipped over ten furlongs in 2min 16sec. Coil did a similar task. Tire defeated Sabretache in a mile and a quarter gallop, which was covered in 2min 19sec. Bloodshot was sent a miie and a quarter, and Hopscotch a mile, both finishing badly. Pivot wound up a sound two mile gallop in 3min 45sec. Later. On the card being called over to nigbt Newhaven retained his position of first fayorite for the Derby, being at 2 to 1, Resolute 5 to 1, Coil 7 to 1, Sabretache 16 to 1, Candook 20 to 1. There was no alteration in the quotations of the others. Merrigal and Survivor have arrived. Skipper has receded to 100 to 6 fo the Melbourne Cup, but otherwise yos r terday's prices were not altered. Marusa was supported for several thousands at 100 to 6.
