Manchester Rifles.
A meeting of the shooting committee was held in the Orderly-room on Tuesday night. All of the members were present, Lieut. Barltrop in the chair, lt was decided to accept an invitation from the Woodville Piitle Club to fire a match, and it was suggested November 25 be the date if suitable io tbe Woodville Club. A challenge from the Rangitikei Royal's second ceam was also accepted, the match to be fired on Nov. 18 if convenient. It was resolved that the corps be divided into two classes, A and B, and that Mrs Kirton's trophy be allotted to class A and Captain Kirton's trophy to class B. The first competitions will take place on Wednesday next, at 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. The conditions to be four competitions, best three to count, handicaps, seven shots at each range, two sighters allowed. Score limits : Class A, 84 and 88 (three ranges) ; class B, 54 and 56 (two ranges). Ranges — As may be decided by the committee from time to time for class A ; ciass B, 200-300 and 300 500. Sergt. Aitken and Vol. Parker were appointed handicappers and are to classifiy the men. It was decided that the competition on Wednesday count for j Capt. Kirton's rifle. After transacting some routine business tbe meeting adjourned.
