Butter. — Prime separator, iv roll (fresh), lOd ; good separator, 9d ; prime salt, 6|d ; prime dairy, 7d ; ordinary, 5d to 6d per lb. Ei^gs, 8d to 9d per doz. Poultry. — Fowls, Us to 3s 6d ; ducks, 3s 6d to 4s ; geese, ss ; turkeys, 7s pair. Sheepskins.— Best butchers' skins, 4s 6d to ss ; medium to good, 3s to 4s ; country crossbred skins, medium to fine quality, well-saved pelts, s|d ; extra choice lines, full woolled, s]d to 6d ; half to three-quarter woolled, wellsaved, 4^d to 5d ; fair to medium, 3-J-d to 4}d ; best country merinos, full-woolled, 4 : {d to 54 d ; ordinary to good, 4d to 4£d per lb. Hides. — Extra heavy ox hides, well flayed, 18s to 20s ; plump, heavy, 16s to 17s 6d ; medium, 10s to 14s ; cow hides, extra heavy, 8s to 9s 6d ; medium, 7s to 7s 6(1. Dunedin, October 6. Ellis Brothers' stables at Kensington were destroyed by fire last evening. Four racehorses were got out safely. The building was insured in the Pbcenix Company for £400. The contents were ] valued at L2OO, and were uninsured. j Two youths named George Blagdon and Alexander Clydevale have been committed for trial for forging cheques.
