Privations of an Exploring Party.

(Prr Press Association.) Melbourne, August 19. Mr Mason, leader of the Westralian exploration expedition, which left Perth three months ago, arrived at Eacha with Yonge, another member of the party, after a very unpleasant experience. Ihe two left a man in camp, and made a flying expedition accompanied by a native and travelled within one hundred and sixty miles of Eucba. On the night of July 20th the blacks stole nearly all their food, bat left eight gallons of water. The two started to tramp through unknown country to Eucha. On the second day Mason's feet gave way, and he had the greatest difficulty in travelling. On the fifth day they drank the last of the water. They had no food for two days, but killed a dog, drank the blood and ate the flesh. The next two days they were , without food and water. Shortly before reaching Eucba, Masou collapsed, bat Yonge managed to reach a telegraph station, and assistance was sent to his companion. He states that a large portion of the country he passed was the grandest pastoral country he has seen in any of the colonies, bat was absolutely waterless. _ _____^^____
