Tbe House met at 2.30. In reply to questions, it was stated Government bad cot yet appointed the Auditor-General, and Government had not approached the Public Trustee, or Mr Martin, Stipendiary Magistrate, on the matter.— That Government would go very carefully into the question of arranging a telegraphic money order system between Australia and New Zealand. Mr Joyce brought np the report of the Public Petitions Committee, on tbo petiI tion of District Judge Kettle, respecting the status of District Court Judges. The committee referred tbe petition to the Government for favorable consideration. At the evening sitting Sir R. Stout's Criminal Code Act Amendment Bill, and the Hon. J. W. Steward's Shearers' Accommodation Bill passed their final stages. Mr J. W. Kelly's Domestic Servant's Half Holiday Bill was further amended in Committee, and subsequently passed its final stages. The Hon. Steward's Mortgages Bill was rad a third time, and passed After two hours' discussion in committee on tbe first clause of Mr W. Hutchison's Restrint to Incitement of Betting Bill, a motion to report progress was carried by 20 to 14. Mr Steward's Public Morgue's Bill passed through committee without material amendment, aud was put through its final stages. Tne House rosa at 12.55 a.m.
