o (Per Press Association.) Melbourne, August 5. Tiritea and Donald McKinnon have been scratched for tbe V.R.C. Steeplechase. Sydney, August 4. The following ncrotchings have been posted : — Epsom Handicap ; Canary, Hermit and Marco. Metropolitan Stakes, Hermit. Duneoin, August 4. At a meeting of tbe committee of tbe Dunedin Jockey Club the report of the Programme Cotamittee was adopted. Tbis recommended the reduction of stakes at the Spring meeting by £120 ; Hunt, £35: Autumn, £100; Anniversary, £15 ; May, £135. It was decided to declare the weights for the Otago Cup in time to permit owners to back their horses in doubles with the New Zealand Cup. Mr S. Solomon has given a bandsome trophy for the Otago Cup. Ten guineas were voted for the New Zealand Turf Record.
