Feilding Cycling Club.
A general meeting of members of the Feilding Cycling Club was held in the Club Booms last evening, there being only a fair attendance. The balance-sheet of the late cycling meeting was read, showing a loiS of £11 15s 9d on the meeting.. The receipts were £21 12s and expenditure £34 2s Bd, including £20 lCte paid away in prize money in cash besides trophies. Notwithstanding the losses on both the cycling race meetings this year the Club have paid all liabilities. Resolved, That a vote of thanks be accorded to the tradesmen for closing their premises earlier than usual on the day of the late sports meeting. Resolved, That Messrs Fisher, Feck, and Johnston be a committee to enquire into the feasibility of securing a Club room for the use of members exclusively. Resolved, That a letter be sent to the Borough Council regretting that the footballers were allowed to play on the Oval again, considering the heavy expense other athletic societies^are put. to annually to repair the damage consequent on football being played there. A sub-committee was appointed to enquire into the. practicability of securing a site for a racing track which would be under" the' control of the~— Club. The question of banking the course around the corners was discussed, but members considered it would be useless spending more money on the Oval, and decided not to take further action iv the matter: The meeting then adjourned.
