APITI v. BIRMINGHAM.

The firot cup match of the season between clubs in the Oroua Rugby Union was played at Apiti, on Saturday, between teams representing Birmingham and the Apiti Rivals. There was a large attendance of spectators. Tbe game was very well contested all through, both teams being evidently determined to win. In the first spell Apiti obtained a mark near their opponents' goal, which was converted by A. Moves. Apiti had slightly the best of the game for the remainder of the tiiiie, but did not increase the score. The game resulted in favor of the Apjiti team bv three points to nil. At the conclusion of the game the players were kindly provided with refreshments by Mrs Clapham. assisted by several of the ladies. The visitors were afterwards entertained at dinner by tbe bome team in Mr Eager's Hotel.
