Feilding School Committee.

A special meeting of the above was held last evening for the purpose of selecting an assistant teacher to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Miss Haynes. Present — Messrs W Cart hew (chairman), E. Goodbehere, Jas Wood, R. J. Thompson, and W. Spence. The Eev. A. S. Innes Jones and Mr J. Gould sent apologies for non-attend-ance — Accepted. Applications for the position of assistant teacher in the school were received from Misses A. McDonough (Hawera), E. M. McEwen (Longburn), H. Curtis (Pukeora), and B. Burr (Hawera). Proposed by Mr Goodbehere, seconded by Mr Thompson, That this Committee recommend the Wanganui Education Board to appoint Miss McDonough as assistant teacher in the school. — Carried. Resolved, That this meeting be adjourned until Monday evening next.
