Pohangina Notes.
The road through the bush close to the township will require more repairs before the winter fully setß in. It will be worse than last year if steps are not speedily taken to put it in order, The bus wants felling on each side to let the sun get to it. Is it true that we shall be cut off the Palmerston electorate and tacked on to Feilding ? Mr Bray has started bushfelling on the section recently purchased by him at Coal Creek from Mr Byan. Our schoolmaster would be glad to receive donations of books for the school library. The library is much appreciated by the children, but the want of a large assortment of books is largely felt. Anyone who has any books to spare, kindly send them along to Mr Welsh, who will be only 10 pleased to receive them. We may shortly hear something about the sale of unsold sections in the township. The children are busy practising for the conceit on the 15th May under the guidance of Mrs Welsh. We hope for a fine night. I'would suggest that the opinion of Mr G. T. Murray. Engineer to the Wanganui office of the Lands Department, be obtained re stock bridge over the river. This gentleman has erected several I believe. It is proposed to form a Drnids Lodge here if sufficient members can be obtained. Standard.
