The Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — At Pahiutua on Tuesday sheep were largely in exeesß of advertised numbers. A cheerful tone in bidding existed from beginning to end, and ready sales were made at quotations. A total clearance was affected. Cattle, in fair supply, in common with other phases, were slow of sale. We disposed of tbe bulk, but more by private treaty than by auction. We quote — Sheep — Forward wethers, 7s 3d to 7s 6d ; stores, 5s 4d to 6s 10 ; 2-tootb ewes (small), 4s 6d to 5s 10d, others, 6s sd ; store ewes, 2s 6d to 4s 3d ; wellgrown lambs in wool, 5s ; others 3s 6d to 3a 8d ; culls, la 4d. Cattle— 2-year steers L 2 9s; 18mos., L>2 ; 20m05., L 2 9s; springing heifers, L 4. The Palmerston yards on Thursday held a full supply of sheep. Every lot was sold, mostly under the hammer, though without quotable change, with the exception of one line of forward 4 tooth Lincoln wethers, which at Bs, the price made, may fairly be said to have advanced upon late prices. Sheep — 2-tooth Kornney wethers, 5s 3d ; 4-tooth do., 6s 7d ; 4-tooth Lincoln wethers, Ta ; forward do., 7s lid ; others, 6s ; fat ewes, 6s; f.m. breeding ewes, 5s ; 2 to 6-tooth 4s 3d ; others, 3s to 4s Id ; culls, Is 7d to Is lid ; medium lambs, 2s 7d to 2s 9d ; culls, 2s Id. Cattle— We yarded up some large grown bullocks which did not reach i reserve under the hammer, though we ex- I pect making a sale privately during the week.
