English Politics.
(Per Press Association.) London, March 18. A Bill was introduced by Mr Mildmay, M.P., for Lofness, enforcing the labelling of foreign meat and cheese. It was read a second time by a majority of 150. March 19. Mr Ritchie, President of the Board of Trade, supported Mr Mildmay's Bill, on condition that it was sent back to the Select Committee agaiu. Its provisions as at present drafted were unworkable, and practical difficulties in the way were great. The Times considers the measure will not prevent fraud, and the machinery will be expensive.
